ARTHUR SHEPHERD entertained about thirty-five of her frienda 'yesterday afternoon af-ternoon at a bridge tea at her home on Fifth street. Eight tablet were filled with the players, and prizes in the game were awarded to Mrs. William Reid and Mrs. Elbridge Thomas. The hostess was assisted at the tea which followed by Mrs. Don Carloa Roberts Rob-erts and Mrs. Joseoh E. Caine. MRS. ARTHUR H. 8. BIRD will gire a roller skating party at the Watatch rink this afternoon to be followed by tea at her home. ' MRS. BENJAMIN LOCKWOOD will entertain enter-tain at cards tomorrow evening. MR. AND MRS. THOMAS B. SHANNON will entertain informally at 500 this evening in honor of Mrs. H. Pettinger. THE CANADIAN CLUB will entertain this evening at the Ladies' Literary club. MISSES DORA AND EVELYN DALY entertained en-tertained a few friends at bridge yesterday morning, followed by luncheon. The prizes were awarded to Miss Leila Stingley and Miss May Kerrln. The guests were Misses Bess and Mildred McMillan. Miss Leila Stingley, Stin-gley, Miss Pearl Van Cott, Miss Mary Snied-ley' Snied-ley' and Miss Jenna Budd Geddes. MISS FITCH and Miss Maud Fitch entertained enter-tained informally at dinner last evening preceding pre-ceding the ball. The decorations were in pink chrysanthemums and smilax, covers being be-ing laid for twelve. MRS. JAMES FENNEMORE who has made her home in San Diego, Cal., has returned to this city where she will make her future home. MRS. SOL SIEGEL leaves today for Baltimore Balti-more and New York to spend a part of the winter. MRS. W. . ADAMS entertains today at s luncheon, the first of a eeries of similar affairs. MRS. HL'GH PARK canie in from lier country home yesterday and will tpend a few days with Mrs. C. H. McMahon. MRS. W. F. BEER entertained at cards Tuesday evening, the affair being a surprise sur-prise on Dr. Beer. MR. AND MRS. DON H. PORTER left Thursday for San Francisco and Los Angeles for a trip of about ten daya. Sli'y will be the guests in a private car of a party of Eastern friends, with whom they will make the entire trip. MRS. WALTER FITCH has issued invitations invita-tions for two bridge teas to be given V'ednesday and Thursday afternoons next. MRS. C. H. BLANCHARD will entertain at a tea next Friday afternoon at her home on East First South street. MIPS SALLIE LEONARD of Los Angeles is expected in the city shortly to be a guest of Dr. and Mrs. A. C. Behle. V MRS. J. H. RICHARDS will leave about the first of December for Los Angeles to join her mother, Mrs. George T. Odell, who will leave for that city tomorrow to spend a par of the winter.
