Show WINTER RANGE FOR SHEEP EXCELLENT N. S. Neilson, a banker from- Mt. Pleasant and a heavy dealer in live stock, who is visiting tbrt city, reports the winter range on the desert in the western part of the State the best that it has been for twenty-live years and that prospects for the sheepmen never looked so bright as at present. The present condition of the range, he says, comes from the unusually wet season that has just passed. In the last week an inch of rain has been deposited on the desert. White and black sage and grass in great abundance insure fat sheep next spring if enough snow falls to supply them -with water. The sheep are going ou to the desert in far greater numbers and much finer condition than ever before in the history his-tory of the State. Many of the range sheep are now in marketable condition and some important shipments have recently re-cently been made. Among them was a shipment of SflOO sheep made by Mr. Neilson and Walter James to the Los Angeles Packing company. Pat mutton is at present commanding a good figure. |
