Show SOCIETY OUT IN FORCE AT THE JMRITY BRLL There were those who danced and those who didn't, but whether they "danced or not, all of the vast throng who attended the charity ball at the fait Lake Theater last night voted the affair a success from start to finish. It 1 was a brilliant assemblage of "fair wo-Cien'and wo-Cien'and brave men," some of the latter, lat-ter, however, exhibiting a rarer degree , of. courage in appearing on a ballroom ' floor than they would in facing a wild peast or going down into the earth in earch of its treasures. The charity ball was under the auspices au-spices of the St. Mark 's Hospital Aid society and for the benefit of the char- Jty fund of that institution. The noble omen composing this organization forked earnestly for its succes, and tueces crowned their efforts, not only from' a social, but from a financial Standpoint. The large theater was tastefully arranged, ar-ranged, a floor being laid over the par-$uet par-$uet for dancing, while supper was erved on the rear of the stage. The aviditorium was decorated in the na-m na-m l;nal colors and with potted plants, ktt-iile Christensen 's enlarged orchestra 'V3 stationed in a commanding position en a raised platform.
