Show ; MEXICAN GOVERNMENT ! MAY GET RAILROAD ; NEW YORK, Nov. 1. It was stated 1 in Wall street yesterday that consider-1 consider-1 able progress has been made in negotiations negoti-ations between representatives of Mex-' Mex-' ican Central railroad and the Mexican Government for the sale of control of the railroad to the Government.- The negotiations have been in progress In various forms for the last six months 1 and were taken up anew on the arrival in this city recently of Minister of Finance Limantour. Mr. Limantour leaves for Mexico today and it is believed be-lieved he will take with him a plan of sale that eventually will be accepted by his Government. Mr. Limantour, in an interview given yesterday, was very optimistic in his statements and opinions concerning the present and future conditions ot financial finan-cial affairs iu his country. He baid that the advancements made by Mexico si uee the gold standard v. as adopted were large. "Mexico is in a wonderfully flourishing flour-ishing and thriving condition," he continued. |
