Show BIG STORM Off FRENCH COAST Is . Accompanied by Heavy Falls of Snow and Tidal Wave at Toulon; Nice Suffers Most PARIS, Nov. 1. A violent storm has swept over the south of France, accompanied accom-panied by heavy falls of snow on the coast and a tidal wave at Toulon, which Frevents Admiral Touchard's squadron rom coaling. Many small craft were torn from their anchoragea and wrecked and the quays were flooded. Nice suffered most severely, the famous fa-mous promenade Des Anglais and the neighboring streets being under water a foot deep. The shops there were so ' badly flooded that the contents of some ot them were totally destroyed. It is estimated that, the damage will amount to an enormous sum. ' . |
