Show "PLAYS HOOKEY" TO ESCAPE BLINDNESS INDIANAPOLIS, O., Nov. 1. An unusual case came to the attention of the Juvenile court officers when, a thirtrn-year.old boy, who ran away from school, told Judge Stubbs that he "played hookey" because he could not see the fine print in his school books. Because he couldu't read his teacher etood him up in a corner before the other pupils. The eonrt physician examined the boy, and found that ha wss totally blind in one eye snd thst the other wss very week. Arrangements were made st once to hsve the boy admitted to the .State school for blind children. |
