Show DYNAMITE PUT IN COALHOUSE Engineer Has Narrow Escape Es-cape Front Death in Encountering En-countering Infernal Machine Ma-chine in Coal Shed. AKRON, O., Nov 1. Andrew Mcintosh, Mc-intosh, aged 40, a Baltimore & Ohio engineer, en-gineer, yesterday had a narrow escape from death by an infernal machine. A 38-caliber revolver, packed with powder in a small box, and ten sticks of dynamite were concealed in a tool box in his coalhouse. The trigger of the pistol was fastened to the lid of the box. When Mcintosh opened the lid the machine let go and the bullet struck Mc in tosh in the cheek, imbedding itself. it-self. He was burned by the powder and the dynamite was thrown to all parts of the coalhouse, but did not explode. Mcintosh's injuries are not serious. He says he knows of no enemies. The police hsve a clue. Had the dynamite exploded great damage to the property would have followed, as many houses are in close proxjmity. ? |
