Show NEWSPAPER MEN GET SHOCK IN REPORT OF THE PROGRAMME COMMITTEE. The representatives of the different papers pa-pers were given a distinct shock at the evening session of the House Thursday. Wilson and Tolton. appointed as a special committee to draft a programme for " Washington's birthday, recommended that an Invitation be extended to the Governor, all State officials, . the United States Senators Sen-ators and Representative, and to the representatives rep-resentatives of the press. When the last was read by the clerk there was a ripple, of applause from the press table that was quickly silenced by the Speaker's gavel. The following programme will be observed ob-served : S. H. Love, president Joint assembly. Quartette. Ten-minute speech, "Washington," Speaker Thomas Hull. -Ten-minute speech, "Lincoln," Senator - George N. Lawrence. Quartette. Ten-minute speech. "Garfield."
