' The House surprised itself at the after-jsoon after-jsoon session, Thursday by reaching the faTendar of bills before the time for adjournment ad-journment Not only did It reach the calendar, cal-endar, but it wiped seven measures off it before finishing the afternoon's work. Johnson's H. B. No: 113. prohibiting the ale of firearms or the carrying of firearms fire-arms by any one under 14 years of age, paaed the House with four negative vote. Cromar made a motion to reduce the age limit to 12 years, but this was lost. Joseph's substitute bill. No. 127. taxing the net proceeds of salt works, passed the House without a struggle. The measure wu substituted for the original bill with the understanding that the Senate will take favorable action. Other bills passed were: H. B. No. 70 Relating to burglary In the first and second iegrees, as amended by the Senate. 8 B No. 17 Requiring the Secretary of State to give bond in the sum of 125.000. S. B. No. 46 Relating to vacancies and pav of Jury commissioners. II B No. 45 Relating to undertakings on appeal from Justices' courts. |
