Show HORSE FRIGHTENED TO DEATH BY NOISE A horse was frightened to death Thursday Thurs-day afternoon near tha. Rio Grande depot, by he crash of an empty freight car that had been sent spinning down the track by a switch engine, Into a string of other cars on the eidlng. The horse, hitched to a wagon, was standing a few feet from the tracks. When the cars crashed together so near him. he reared , up into the. air. and then repeated the performance, trembling like a leaf. Then the animal collapsed, and fell to the ground. After a few convulsive convul-sive shudders, he straightened out, as dead as the proverbial door nail. Lt. Walter Emms, a veterinarian, who was standing near, saw the occurrence, and said that the animal had been literally liter-ally frightened to death by the ahock. |
