Cross examination of Mrs. Harry Poulin continued today at tha hearing hear-ing of the Tiernan-Poulfn paternity suit The state shot rapid fira questions I at the witnesses In an attempt to break down the alibi Mrs. Poulin had established for her husband, who Is altered al-tered to be the father of the child born to Mrs. John P. Tiernan. On direct examination Mrs. Poulin emphatically denied that her husband had ever confessed to her of Intimate relations with Mrs. Tiernan. She also asserted that she accompanied her husband hus-band to church every Wednesday and Friday during- lent, 1921, except one nlxht when Poulin remained at borne ill. Mrs. Tiernan had previously testified testi-fied that she and Poulin met In his store on these nights. The spectators staged a hissing demonstration dem-onstration when Mrs. Poulin took the stand. The court warned the gallery that he would order them out if further fur-ther hissing occurred. Poulin sat throughout his wife's testimony apparently indifferent, lie chewed gum Incessantly. Only once during the session did the evidence reveal a new angle In the case. This was when defense attorneys' questioned the witness regarding an alleged conversation between Mrs. Tiernan and Mrs. Poulin in the kitchen of the Poulin. home.
