Show o - Society OLD FRIENDS CLUB , MEMBERS ENTERTAINED Mrs. Muriel Robertson was club hostess on Wednesday evening to members of the Old Friends group. i The evening was spent in playing play-ing progrssive 500 and prizes were I won by Mrs. Vanza Mann and j Mrs. Gertrude Clements. j The hostess served a dainty lunch at card tables to ten club members and two guests, Mrs. Ila Cranmer and Mrs. Beth Prothero. J. A. PACKARD HONORED ON HIS BIRTHDAY J. A. Packard of this city was honored on the occasion of his seventy-ninth birthday Tuesday with a family dinner given at his home here, with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Marvel Flom, acting as host and hostess. Mr. Packard, a lifelong resident of Springville, is a retired farmer and has always taken an active part in civic affairs of this city. SHOWER HONORS RECENT BRIDE Mrs. Eldon Warthen, the former for-mer Jenna V. Jensen, a recent bride, was honored with a kitchen Gull and Anna Hjorth at the lat-shower lat-shower given by Mrs. Dorothy ter's home on Friday evening. A bride's book was made during dur-ing the evening -and games were played. The hostesses served a tasty lunch to about twenty relatives rela-tives and friends in attendance. Prizes for the games went to Alene Warthen of Spanish Fork and to Mrs. Virginia Swenson. The guest of honor was rpesent-ed rpesent-ed with many nice kitchen items. AVE DELMA CLUB AT CARD PARTY Last Wednesday evening, members mem-bers of the Ave Delma club were entertained at a delightful party at the home of Mrs. Dolly Smith. Nine club members ' and three guests attended, the latter being Mrs. Emily Gustaveson, Mrs. Del-la Del-la Dallin and Mrs. Velma Roy-lance. Roy-lance. Cards and a tasty lunch were diversions of the evening and prizes priz-es for the games went to Mrs. Gustaveson, Mrs. Gwen Cutler and Mrs. Delia Dallin. CLUB HEARS TALK ON RUSSIAN LITERATURE Miss Beth Evans gave an especially es-pecially interesting talk on "Russian "Rus-sian Literature" at the meeting of the Cultural Arts club held Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at the . home of Mrs. Blaine Clyde. The hostess served a tasty lunch before the program, and the next meeting was announced for March 6, at the home of Mrs. Mark Whiting. Whit-ing. . EFFAN BEE CLUB MEMBERS ENTERTAINED Mrs. Shirley Nielson was hostess to members of the Effan Bee club at her home Wednesday evening. An interesting program featured fea-tured the entertainment with Mrs. Ann Hatch, Utah county nurse, giving a talk on Health Problems.
