Show HERALD BECOMES MEMBER OF ABC Springville Paper Is One Of Two Weeklies In State To Qualify Word was received this week of the election ' of The Springville Herald to membership in the A. B. C. the Audit Bureau of Circulations. Cir-culations. In ibecoming a member of A. B. C, the Herald joins the ranks of the most progressive weekly papers of the 10,000 weeklies week-lies in. the nation, who are qualified quali-fied to use the A.B.C. symbol which is recognized by national advertisers everywhere as 'the symbol of honest circulation. The Herald is one of only two weeklies in Utah to qualify. The recent audit of the circulation circula-tion records of the Herald, by one of this organization's auditors, showed that the paper has a total, net paid, circulation of 1661 subscribers. sub-scribers. For many yeirs it has, unfortunately, unfortu-nately, been true that some publishers pub-lishers have exaggerated their circulation totals. If a publisher had 500 readers, he was apt to say he had a thousand; if he had a thousand, he was apt to "swear" that he had 2,000; and so on. Forward looking publishers of 'the nation decided that the time had come for progressive publishers publish-ers to join the A. B. C. Because when circulation is reported by the A.B.C. as being of a certain figure, then advertisers can bet their bottom dollar that is the number of paid subscribers the publisher has and that is the readership read-ership total they will receive. Audit Bureau of Circulations is an organization maintained by advertisers, ad-vertisers, advertising agencies and the buyers and agency members who have established definite terms and classifications by which circulation can be judged. The A.B.C. symbol of circulation is as accurate as the butchers' and grocers' gro-cers' tested and sealed scales; it's as accurate as a gasoline filling station's pumps. The Springville Herald is pleased that it has been selected as one of the new members of A.B.C. proud that it can substantiate circulation cir-culation claims with audited figures. |
