Show The Park Department of New York City reported after a recent hurricane that the work of removing re-moving and straightening street trees that were destroyed had to be halted because the $400,000 appropriated ap-propriated for these contracts by the Board of Estimate were exhausted ex-hausted by this work. The department de-partment pointed out that many small trees had been cut up b y res-dents res-dents for fire wood, adding, "Assuming "As-suming that they continue to help this way, it is estimated that an additional ?50,000 is required to complete removal of trees along city streets." |
