Show BEE-HIVE SWARM DAY HELD ATMAPLTON II ' ' Approximately 800 Mothers And Daughters Enjoy Banquet, Program Swarm Day exercises were conducted con-ducted at the Mapleton ward chapel chap-el last Thursday evening, with class members and teachers from seven wards participating. The entertainment, featuring a banquet and program, honored the mothers of Beehive girls and approximately ap-proximately 300 persons were in V attendance. For perfect enrollment of all i girls, the First, Fourth, and Ma- pleton wards were presented with J M awards during the evening. The program opened with congregational con-gregational ' singing of "Hello, Beehive," followed by prayer by Lula Jean Holfetz of the Fifth ward. Mrs. Blake Averett, Ma-, Ma-, pleton, gave the welcome address, and the Beehive chorus from the , First ward, directed by Mrs. J. L. Loveridge, gave a number. The anniversary greeting was given by Mrs. Catherine Russell, stake Beehive leader. Ramona Leanard, Third ward, gave an instrumental in-strumental selection; Maxine Eves of the Sixth ward, a tribute to mothers; Fourth ward Beehive chorus, directed by Mrs. Afton Palfreyman, selection; Afton Ash, First ward, reading; Norma Sumsion, Sum-sion, Second ward, piano selection; selec-tion; Pauline Boyer, Second ward, reading. Mrs. Harold Christensen, stake president, gave a short talk and the closing prayer was by Joan Mason of the Sixth ward. |
