Show BRITISH WILL AID " WAR WITH JAPS "We have the Japanese to finish," fin-ish," declared Prime Minister Winston Churchill of Great Britain Brit-ain who tells the British people that "we stand absolutely with our great American ally, paying off at the other end of the world debts as heavy as ever were inflicted in-flicted on us." The British war leader cautioned caution-ed the people of his country against any celebration of victory over Germany and urged a "new leap forward" to bring the war against Japan "to a conclusion altogether al-together free from any doubt." The repeated statements of Prime Minister Churchill, Foreign Minister Eden and other British statesmen are gradually convincing convinc-ing Americans that the British Empire intends to make its pro rata contribution in the Pacific. That there were people in this country anxious to creat doubts about the British is not surprising surpris-ing in view of anti-Brtish sentiment senti-ment apparent in some sections of the nation and among some groups of hyphenated citizens. While the Japanese attacked the United States at Pearl Harbor, we 'should not forget that the same Japanese had already perpetrated many crimes against British citizens citi-zens and that what the Japanese did to us is a circumstance to what they did to British interests in the Far East. Moreover, history repeatedly demonstrates the determination of the British to avenge wrongs and injuries inflicted upon British citizens citi-zens or upon the Empire itself. Japan will not be an exception. |
