Show IT'S YOUR DUTY TO VOTE! By this time in the political game, the players are arming themselves with weapons by which they hope to make the final and decisive blow, while an interested inter-ested audience stands by knowing that it alone can name the victors. It is a privilege to be able to have a say in who shall govern our state and our nation, and while we may not agree with the policies of the winners, it will be a satisfying thought to know that we voted the way we believed was right and for the candidate of our choice. ' Every American citizen should go to the polls next Tuesday and cast his vote for the candidate who in his opinion will work for the best interests of the state and the nation. And when the final count is made, every loyal citizen should pledge his support to the winners. Politicians throughout the state are expecting a record vote predicated on an increased population, a broadening public interest in governmental affairs, and voting stimulation by groups interested in particular par-ticular candidates. It is obvious that the contest between incumbent Herbert B. Maw (D) and J. Bracken Lee -(R) is overshadowing over-shadowing all others as an interest stimulator. So much has been said for and against each of these candidates that even at this late date there will be some prospective voters who are still on the fence. But whether one is on or off the fence, the fact still remains that everyone should vote. Voting should be taken, as seriously as the most important duty next Tuesday. It is a privilege of which every individual phould take advantage, doing his part to select the, type of men who will guide' the welfare of this state and nation during the next four years. |
