W 1 3 .250 Firemen 0 4 .000 The Mapleton Jaycees, backed by their star pitching ace, Leonard Leon-ard Stone, defeated the Springville Jaycees 12-5 Tuesday night to take over the lead in the city soft-ball soft-ball league. Stone, who chucked a no-hit, no-run game against the V. F. W. club last week, did a good job against the Springville club. In the other Tuesday night game, the V. F. W. team dunked the Firemen 10-3. The next round of play will be held on July 8 with the Mapleton Jaycees meeting the Firemen at 8 p. m., to be followed by the Spring-ville-V. F. W. game at 9 o'clock. Recreation Director Pehrson announces an-nounces that any fellows interested interest-ed in playing Softball should contact con-tact Stan Roberts or Bill Ruff and get into the sport. He also announces an-nounces that this year's Softball winner will be presented with a lovely trophy, the donor being Paul Haymond. |
