Show Spring Acres Race Track Opens For Rodeo Shows The Spring Acres race track and rodeo grounds, located lo-cated one-quarter mile east of Brookside Park subdivision, on Fourth South street, will be officially opened, July 3-4-5, for Springville's second annual 'amateur rodeo shows. Reported to be one of Utah's most beautiful and modern recreation recrea-tion centers, the race track and rodeo grounds cover a 27-acre tract of land ideally located in a natural amphitheater. , The Spring Acres area offers the latest and best in racing and rodeo facilities. The one-half mile track, 60 feet wide, is said to be one of the widest in the state. Covered with sawdust and shavings, shav-ings, the arena in which the rodeo ro-deo shows will take place, is approximately ap-proximately 300 feet long and 200 feet wide, in full view of the grandstand and bleachers. Fireproof stables of cinder block construction, are built at present for sixty horses but are expected to be enlarged to a 100-horse capacity. ca-pacity. About one-third of the inside of the race track has water pipes installed in-stalled and the area will be converted con-verted into a lake for winter skating, skat-ing, according to present plans. The entire project which represents repre-sents an expenditure of some $50,-000, $50,-000, will be appropriately landscaped land-scaped and is expected to become one of the beauty spots of the vicinity as well as one of the most modern and up-to-date recreational recreation-al areas in the state. Work at the site began last November No-vember and has been rushed the past few weeks to have grounds and equipment ready for the opening open-ing rodeo shows. |
