Show What I Would Like To Do On The 4th By Hill W7iiK',i To start off this great celebration, celebra-tion, which is an anniversary of the siR'niE f the Declaration of Independence, "early in the morning morn-ing I'd like to hear a cannon salute. sa-lute. Then later in the morning a mammoth parade in connection with the coming of the pioneers, would be fun. After the parade I'd like to gx to the city park and get in the contests of climbing the creased pole, catching the greased pig, a fish scramble, races, and other contests. Any time during the day there should be some stands where hamburgers, ham-burgers, hot-dogs, ice-cream, pop, popcorn and firecrackers are sold. I'd like to be able to set off a firecracker fire-cracker without someone scolding me. Later in the morning, I'd like to get in out of the sun so I'd like a picture show which was all comedy, come-dy, like the "Three Stooges," "Donald "Don-ald Duck," and "Mighty Mouse." After having dinner I'd like to have some fun and see a baseball game at the ball park between the Springville team and some other team. Later that evening I'd enjoy a carnival with its ferris wheel, octopus, oc-topus, hammer, tiltawhirl, its bingo bin-go games, and other contests with balls and darts. Also I wish they had a sideshow with a lot of freaks. Later that night a giant display of fireworks, especially the brightly-colored skyrockets, would be nice. Then I'd go to bed all tired out and sleep till noon the next day. The Endv By Joyce Weight I would like to have first, in the morning about 6:00, a sunrise salute, in memory of our forefathers forefath-ers having the faith and courage to sign the "Declaration of Independence," Inde-pendence," so that we could be a free American nation. This could be' set off on Round Peak by blasts of dynamite. Then I would like to see a mammoth mam-moth patriotic parade at 10:00, with all sorts of colorful floats, giving a prize for the best one. Also colorful bands, all slicked up in their uniforms, playing as they march by. And in honor of our Veterans of World War Two,' let them lead the parade with great triumph. Then after the parade, have a airplane fly low over the park, dropping candy chews for the small children. At one o'clock I would then like to have children's games and con-i con-i tests with all sorts of fun, like rac-. rac-. ing for all ages, both boys and 1 girls, climbing up the greased pole ., for money on the top, gunny sack ; races, bingo contests, quiz shows, and spelling bees. Then at 3 o'clock I would like to have a flower or rose contest for the ladies, giving prizes for the largest, smallest, and most beautiful rose or flower. At night, starting about six o'clock, a carnival with fortunetellers, fortune-tellers, photo houses, stages with dancers, clowns; also ferris wheel, roll-o-plane, the octupus, etc. The End |
