Show V Rodeo Performance Scheduled Tonight Friday And Saturday Wild Brahma Bulls, Trick Riders, Fancy Ropere To Furnish Thrills At 3-Day Championship Rodeo Sponsored By Hobble Creek Riding Club A fitting prelude to the Fourth of July festivities in Springville will he the opening night performance of the Amateur Rodeo this evening, beginning at 8:30 p. m., at the noMr Qnrinff A prps "Race Track flndSs JJJlil.fe v, Rodeo grounds. j Sponsored by the Hobble Creek Riding club, this event is expected to be the largest of its kind in the state this year. According to Frank Morgan, chairman on arrangements, ar-rangements, some of the best rodeo ro-deo stock in the west, including scores of Brahma bulls and bucking buck-ing horses have been shipped here for the big 3-day performance. Riders from Colorado, Wyoming and throughout Utah will compete in bronc riding and roping vieing for the fine championship prizes offered by the Riding Club to the outstanding performers. The deadline for entries in the amateur rodeo is set for today at noon. i In addition to the riders, a trick roper straight from the heart of Old Mexico, will give a fine exhibition exhi-bition each evening. Each night, a mounted demonstration demon-stration will be presented by rid- j ing clubs from Pleasant Grove, Orem and Spanish Fork. There will be the comedy bull fighting ! by the cowboy clowns and many j other interesting and entertaining : events. These ladies will also lead the rodeo ro-deo parade during the day. It will be the second amateur rodeo sponsored by the local Riding Rid-ing club, the members of which have spent much tirrfe and effort to bring to this city the best in rodeo entertainment. While the show is announced as an amateur rodeo, it does not mean that the riders or the stock are inexperienced, inexperi-enced, members of the Riding Club state. It means that those taking part in the various events cannot be registered as professional profession-al performers. Gray Wilkins, judged all around amateur champion cowboy of Dixie arrived in SpringviUe Wednesday to enter his name and maintain his championship in the big central cen-tral Utah rodeo event. His appearance appear-ance in SpringviUe adds considerable consider-able interest to the forthcoming performances, as he will display his best talents to take from equally fine performers, the grand championship prizes. Comfortable seating accommodations, accommo-dations, excellent lighting and a spacious arena will add to the evening eve-ning shows. No one can afford to miss the big western centennial event of this season. |
