Show Safety Council To' Meet With Utah Justices of Peace A series of regional traffic conferences con-ferences with justices of the peace has been scheduled throughout Utah beginning about Sept. 19, announces the Utah Safety Council Coun-cil officials. Because of many complaints being be-ing brought before the traffic law enforcement committee that many justices of the peace were undignified, ignorant of vital points of law and allowed themselves them-selves to become prejudiced, according ac-cording to C. T. Bailey, executive director of the Safety council, a resumption of the conferences was held necessary. Top legal, law enforcement and safety officials will meet with the justices and public to hear complaints com-plaints and explain methods of court procedure and judicial action. ac-tion. These officers will explain further, proper court procedure, points of law such as evidence and the necessity for justices to remain dignified and impartial. Emphasis of the powers justices just-ices have in suspension and revocation re-vocation in cooperation with state officials of drivers' licenses will be discussed. Also a vital subject in regard to boosting safety in communities through proper administration ad-ministration of traffic courts, will be discussed. The conferences are expected to be held one day each in about eight central communities throughout the state. In 1947, the last year of the conferences, the group visited Brigham City, Pro-vo, Pro-vo, Fillmore, Cedar City, Richfield, Rich-field, Price, Roosevelt and Logan. |
