Show Kansas City Stars To Play Kiwanis Team Saturday i Jesse Owens To Appear Here With Team ; Sixth Ward M Men, Salt Lake M Men To Play Preliminary Game at 6:45 . Springville hoop enthusiasts will be treated to an outstanding out-standing cage game here Saturday, Jan. 11, when the Kansas Kan-sas City Stars, colored team, meet the Springville Kiwanis Club. To spice the evening's pro- gram a bit more, a preliminary game between the Sixth ward M Men, Kolob leaders, and the leading lead-ing Liberty ward from Salt Lake City, will be offered. The first game will begin at 6:45, and following fol-lowing this contest will be the main game. Featuring razzle-dazzle passing and sharpshooting antics, plus all the tricks that have made them a crowd - pleaser throughout the country and Mexico, this year's Kansas City team promises a night of entertainment plus an outstanding out-standing basketball performance. Such standout Negro cagers as Vertes Ziegler, Sam Wheeler, Greene Farmer, and Marques Haynes, are in the Kansas City lineup. The club won 128 out of 131 games last year. Featured with the Kansas team is the world-famous track and field star, Jesse Owens. Owens, former Ohio State flash and American Amer-ican Olympic champion in 1936, will give an exhibition of the running run-ning and jumping form that made him the top-notch track star of his day during the half-time intermission. intermis-sion.
