Show DUNN (N. C.) DISPATCH (Independent) says: SOME REMARKS OF MR. BIG The act of Mr. Big in calling off the coal strike was heralded throughout the country with genuine rejoicing. At the same time the act of Mr. Big in turning on and turning off the coal strike as if a turn of the faucet, again emphasizes the extent to which one man controls the happiness, happi-ness, health, and general welfare of all the people of America. Amer-ica. Mr. Big controls too much power. By simply throwing the switch in Washington, Mr. Big can stop trains, close factories, freeze innocent women and children, cause epidemics of sickness, bankrupt families, ! wreck businesses, and cause general hardship and misery. 1 Heretofore Mr. Big has turned off his switch without ever having to account to anybody for his actwithout even having to make an apology to the public. Mr. Big finally got drunk on his power. The last time Mr. Big turned off the switch he thumbed his nose at the government at the same time-the government govern-ment who had heretofore allowed Mr. Big to do his worst unmolested and protected. Mr. Big, you see, had become j intoxicated with power and, like the drunk who just before being arrested for being obnoxious to the public, thou ght he owned the country and everybody in it. So, Mr. Big was taken into custody. Just because Mr. Big has apparently sobered up is no reason why he should not be tried for his crime; nor is it any reason why the 400,000 coal miners who aided and abetted him in his crime should not be fined. The people of the country are thoroughly fed up with Mr. Big and his criminal acts against the country. The people expect the courts to uphold the rights of the people, and to take the starch out of Mr. Big. Anytime Mr. Big gets bigger than his government it becomes time to handle Mr. Big; or change the government. |
