Show FAREWELL PARTY FOR THE WELCH FAMILY A large group of friends from the Comunmity church of this city, gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Welch Monday evening to tender the family a farewell prior to their departure for California, Mr. Welch having been promoted by Columbia Steel Co. in accounting work. He will be located for awhile at Pittsburg and leaves this week for the new location. The family will remain here for some time. t A delicious hot dinner was served early in the evening to forty guests, after which a fine talk was given by Mr. Charles Franks in behalf of the group. He expressed the regret of the family's many friends at losing the Welch family, and the appreciation appre-ciation of their services in church work, Mr. Welch having been superintendent sup-erintendent of the Sunday School for nearly twenty years, and the whole family giving their splendid support in various offices of the church. Mr. Franks then presented present-ed the honored couple with a fine gift from the group. Mr. Welch responded with words of appreciation apprecia-tion and expressed regret at leaving leav-ing this community where he and Mrs. Welch have resided nearly all of their wedded life. Rev. Earl Fritz, pastor of the local church, also gave a short complimentary talk, followed by words of appreciation appre-ciation by John Ellison, Assistant Sunday School superintendent. The remainder of the evening was enjoyed in a social way. |
