Kent Miner was the hero of the "story-book finish" game played here last week against a red-hot Juab five. - After leading the visitors visi-tors for the most part of a fast, and interesting battle, the Juab cagers pulled out in front of the Devils in the closing moments of the game, 42-40. Springville took the ball out of bounds on a foul, and with only a second or so to go, Miner heaved the payoff shot from past the middle of the floor, to score the tieing basket. After a frenzied crowd had settled down in their seats, the extra period began. be-gan. Black dunked in most of the points in the extra period, as Springville counted six points in the short time, while Juab was only able to count a foul toss. The final score read 48-43. Besides tossing the winning shot, Miner counted high in the score column with his entire teammates ably asisting. Bird looked good from his guard position, where he 1 dunked 9 counters. Juab's Nielson and Boswell and Barnes, who sank six long shots, hit from all over the floor to keep the visitors in the running throughout the entire game. These three fellows bore the brunt of the scoring attack with 10, 13 and 15 points, respectively. Coach Hughes' team tossed in 21 baskets as compared to Juab's 17, but counted only 6 out of 16 foul trys. Juab dunked in 9 out of 15.
