Show RAY CLEGG GETS 4 POSITION ON ALL-STAR TEAM Springville Football Star to Play On Picked Team August 28 In Centennial Football Contest Ray Clegg, all-star end on the Springville High School football eleven last fall, has been singly honored by being selected by the football committee to play on the all-star grid team of this section of the state, in a Centennial game to be played next August 28. He will be playing on the South squad and competing against a picked North team. Clegg was the only ; man selected south of Provo for the important contest. I The four-man committee, headed by Earl Ferguson of Box Elder, and including Bailey Santistevan 1 of Bingham, Leo Nelson of American Ameri-can Fork, and Pat Ryon of South, divided the state into two sections i and chose the top-ranking men in each section to play on the teams. I The Southern squad will be com-I com-I posed of team members LaMar : Brown and Carl Worthen, Provo i aces; Stan Cole, Kay Madsen and Stan Ferguson of Lincoln; Clegg, star end of the Springville team; Boyd Dimmick, American Fork; Ernest Web, Lehi's all-state guard; and Royce Mathews of Pleasant Grove. The game is one of the many sports events to be scheduled for the Centennial celebration this year. Clegg is a senior in high school and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Clegg. |
