Miss Lois Hales, recently returned re-turned from the service and now living in Salt Lake City, where she is attending the University of Utah, visited Sunday in Spring-ville Spring-ville with relatives and friends. Miss Maurine Manwaring is confined con-fined to the St. Marks hospital in Salt Lake City, where she recently recent-ly underwent a major operation. She expects to be there for about a month. Mr. and Mrs. Orval C. Lowe recently re-cently left for Washington, D. C, where he will enroll in the George Washington University. They made the trip by plane and stopped at Pungo, N. C, to visit Mrs. Lowe's parents, Mr. and Mrs. David B. Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jolley spent several days of the past week with relatives and friends in this city. Formerly of SpringviUe, they are now making their home in Pine Grove, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Hatch recently recent-ly returned from Idaho and plan to make their home here. j Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Weight and daughter of Tooele visited over the week-end here with relatives rela-tives and friends. Mrs. May Bird came from Salt Lake City to spend the week-end with relatives and friends here. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Eggertsen have just returned from a delightful delight-ful visit with their sons and daughters. daugh-ters. At Ann Arbor, Mich., they visited their son, Claude Eggertsen Eggert-sen and family and with a daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Fred Sorenson and family, fam-ily, and a son, Paul Eggertsen and wife, at Denver, Colo. They also spent some time with a daughter, Mrs. James Simmons and family, at Byron, Wyoming. Mrs. Eggertsen Eggert-sen was gone about a month and Mr. Eggertsen, two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Thorn, accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. A. Y. Wheeler, left Sunday for a month's tour of the southern states. They plan to attend the Mardi Gras at New Orleans, La. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Weight, with Dr. and Mrs. J. J. Weight of Provo, left Wednesday to attend the Mardi Gras at New Orleans, La., and will visit other places of interest through the South, returning return-ing by way of Mexico and the canyons can-yons of Southern Utah. Mrs. Rose Scranton of Pocatello, Idaho, is a guest of Mrs. Jack Per-ham Per-ham for a few days. Mrs. Rex Terkelsen of Ogden, the former Madge Rolfe of this city, visited here this week with relatives and friends. Many relatives and friends went to Spanish Fork Tuesday afternoon after-noon to attend funeral services for Rulon Nelson, husband of Mrs. Ann Sumsion Nelson, who died Sunday Sun-day at a Spanish Fork hospital. Mrs. Frank Fullmer of Black-foot, Black-foot, Idaho, is visiting here this week with her parents, Mr.- and Mrs. John L. Whiting, and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Sarah Dalton has returned from a two-months' stay in California Cali-fornia where she visited a son, Jesse Dalton and family, and a daughter, Mrs. R. E. Murns and family, at Los Angeles. On Sunday, Mrs. Sarah Dalton entertained at dinner at her home for Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thorn and Mr. and Mrs. Miles Burns, the latter couple from Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mecham ( Melba Witney) and daughter Ann have returned to their home in Lodi, Calif., after a few days' visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Witney and other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Crow of Ogden spent the week-end here as guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Miner. Min-er. Mr. and Mrs. Crow are visiting visit-ing with friends prior to their departure de-parture on a year's vacation trip around the country. ' - |
