Show NEBO TEACHERS JOIN FOR ' HIGHER SALARIES In line with the move that is rapidly spreading throughout the schools of Utah, teachers of the Nebo School District have voted 100 per cent to support the Utah Educational Association in an effort ef-fort to secure legislation that will provide adequate salaries. The teachers of Nebo District in meetings meet-ings held throughout the district have signed pledges in which it is agreed that they will refuse to accept ac-cept contracts for next year that do not meet the requirement set up by the Utah Educational Association Associa-tion with salaries for teachers with bachelor degrees from $2280 to $3000. Reed Jones, president of the Nebo Teachers Association, said . that Senate Bill 154 In inadequate and will not provide sufficient revenue to grant increases at all. During the week a meeting of teachers association officers of Nebo, Alpine, Provo, Tintic, and Juab was held in the Payson High School, and at that time it was decided de-cided that the teachers of the above districts would unite in their support of the request being made by the Utah Educational Association Associa-tion in regards to adequate salary schedule. Following that meeting the teachers of Provo and Alpine pledged themselves to support their officers and now the teachers of Nebo School District have turned their pledges to their officers. |
