Show FUNERAL HELD FOR MATRON Services were conducted Sunday afternoon in the Fourth ward chapel for Mrs. Sorena Nielsen Christensen, 85, who died Thursday Thurs-day at the home of a daughter, ; Mrs. Gelga Larsen, with whom she had lived the past four years. Graveside services and inter, ment was conducted at Ferron on Monday. Mrs. Christensen was born In Denmark, February 1, 1858, a daughter of Nickolana and Marton Thyrring. With a brother, she came to this country as converts to the church. She lived at Eph-raim Eph-raim for a time and then moved to Salina. She has been active in the L. D. S. church, serving as a Relief Society So-ciety teacher for 45 years. She also worked in the temple about sixteen years. Surviving, besides her daughter, is one son, Christian T. Nielson of Ferron; also a stepson, Nick L. Nielsen of Homedale, Ida.; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; grand-children; two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Nielsen and Mrs. Ella S. Smith in California. |
