Show 'NOTED SPEAKER TO BE AT KIWANIS APRIL 7 Managing Editor, Deseret News To Speak At Meeting And Special Ladies Night Program Ralph B. Jordan, managing editor edi-tor of the Deseret News, is scheduled sched-uled to speak at the Springville Kiwanis club meeting and ladies night program next Thursday evening, eve-ning, April 7, at Memorial hall. E. A. Strong will be toastmaster. Known as one of the best speakers speak-ers and also 'as one of the best informed in-formed on war news in the Pacific area, Mr. Jordan was selected by President Roosevelt to cover the early war news in that area. He is also author of the column, "News Men's Comments", in the Deseret News. Because of the prominence of the guest speaker, Kiwanis club members will have an opportunity to invite friends as their guests that evening in addition to their lady partners. It will be necessary, however, that the attendance committee com-mittee be notified of the number to attend. The club meeting last week featured fea-tured interesting talks on U. S. relations with China, given by four students from the. high school, including in-cluding Carol Clyde, David Salisbury, Salis-bury, Russell Groesbeck and Aleen Hales. Carol also entertained with a piano selection. The attendance prizes for the evening were won by David Salisbury Salis-bury and Russell Groesbeck. |
