Show Ul ptTa. elects officers fornext year . Mrs. Willis Weight was elected president of the Springville Council Coun-cil of P.-T. A. at the last regular meeting of the council this year, held last Wednesday evening at the high school. The meeting was under direction of Mrs. Reed Clements, who during dur-ing the evening was presented with the president's pin, which is the first to be given here since the organization of P.-T. A. work. Mrs. Clements has served four years as council president, and previous to this time" had served more than six years in various other oth-er P.-T. A. offices. The presentation presenta-tion was made by Mrs. Paul Thorn, president of the Grant school P.-T. A. Other officers elected during the evening included Mrs. Leo Cutler and Wendell Nielson, vice-presidents; Verliane B. Swenson, retained re-tained secretary; Floss Harmer, Mrs. George Roylance and Mrs. Reed Straw, members of the nominating nomi-nating committee. During the evening, also, an organization or-ganization of P.-T. A. was effected in the Junior and Senior high schools, with Mrs.-J. F. -Wingate elected president and Mrs. F. S. Graham and Paul K. Walker vice-presidents. vice-presidents. These officers will appoint ap-point a secretary and nominating committee. Mrs. Swenson gave a report on the school lunch project which showed that a total of 35,287 lunches have been served since the project began in October, and up 'until the middle of March. The report also indicated a total of $3,072.10 had been taken in for lunches during the period and $2,644.80 had been paid out for food and help. Nine employees have been engaged in preparation and serving of the lunch.es. The lunches were raised from 3 cents last year to 10 cents this year, and have been as successful or even more so than in previous years. |
