Show Sr. Chamber Elects New Officers For Year 1943-44 Glen Sumsion, City Attorney, Is Named President Of Chamber Succeeding Dr. George A. Anderson Glen Sumsion, city attorney, Wednesday was elected president of the Springville Chamber of Com-tn Com-tn succeed Dr. Geore-e A. Anderson. A former commander of the American Legion, Mr. Sumsion has taken an active part in community commun-ity affairs and church activities. He is a member of the Kiwanis club and takes an active interest in industrial and educational enterprises. en-terprises. He has served for some time as a member of the public library board, and holds office in several minor organizations. Other officers elected are: G. Lowry Anderson, vice-president; Paul Haymond, Ed Johnson, Harry Pennington and George Wright, members of the board of directors. The new officers are to be installed in-stalled in the near future. With the inception of a number of new industries in this vicinity together with an increase in the population of the area, the local chamber of commerce is in a position posi-tion to function in connection with the growth of the city, as never before, according to members. The retiring officers of the chamber have not only been instrumental in-strumental in aiding newcomers to this city in various ways, but have worked diligently for the betterment better-ment of the community in general. |
