Show A TALK ON NEW GUINEA WAS GIVEN at a meeting of the Mothers Study club Friday afternoon by' Mrs. Fred Jacobs of Provo, who spent two years on the Island. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Zelma Beardall with Mrs. Maude Peterson, club president, presi-dent, in charge of the program, which included in addition to the" talk, instrumental selections by Don Gottfredson. Mrs. Jacobs in interesting manner man-ner told of the customs of the native na-tive tribes and of primitive conditions condi-tions on the island before the advent ad-vent of white people only a few years ago. She also exhibited a number of souvenirs and pictures of interesting places. Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting by the hostess hos-tess assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Verlaine B. Swenson. Attending as special guests were Mrs .J. F. Wingate, Mrs. Alice Davis, Mrs. Ida Horton and Mrs. Irwin Sheffield. |
