Show Charles Straw of Billings, Montana, Mon-tana, visited in Springville Sunday and Monday. Mr. Billings went by plane from Billings to Holland, Michigan, and before returning home he was visiting in Utah. ... Mrs. E. S. Winward and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Tuckfield, visited relatives rela-tives and friends here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Erickson of Salt Lake City, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norris Binks during the past week. En route to his home in Ogden from the East Central States mission, mis-sion, where he acted as mission secretary, Elder Weimer was a Sunday dinner guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Tew. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Gay have been guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Bird since their recent marriage on May 23 in the Manti temple. Mrs. Gay was formerly Hannah Hansen of Monroe. Mr. Gay is attending at-tending Brigham Young university, where he is working on his master's mas-ter's degree. Mrs. Ned C. Carter of Spokane, Washington, will return home Friday Fri-day following a visit here for the past three weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carpenter, and with Mr. and Mrs. Bert L. Carter of Provo. Mrs. Carter was Miss Betty Greenlee before her marriage. There ae people in the United States who still believe we can have peace if we will just leave Mr. Hitler alone. VISITORS Here and There J. H. Manwaring and family and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ashcraft and family spent Sunday in Salt Lake City with the family of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Hill. They went especially to honor Miss Karma Hill, who is leaving June 1 for West Point, where she will marry William Thomas Gleason, lieutenant lieuten-ant in the United States army. The young couple plan to be married Thursday morning, June 12, at 9:30 a. m., in the West Point chapel. cha-pel. Miss Hill is the granddaughter of Mr. Manwaring. Mr. and Mrs. Garnie Johnson and family of Oakland, California, visited during the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weight. . Among those who came to Springville to attend funeral services ser-vices for Alf Weight were Mr. and Mrs. Newell Weight of Snow-flake, Snow-flake, Arizona; Mr. and Mrs. Ar-mon Ar-mon Weight, Parowan; Mr. and Mrs. James Weight, Salt Lake City. Mrs. W. P. Benson, who has been visiting in Springville during the past three weeks, left Saturday Satur-day with her son, Bob, for her home at Yellowstone. |
