Show California Couple Tell Engagement Plans Announcement was made this week of the engagement of Hayley S. Bird, son of Arch H. Bird, to Doris S. Madsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Madsen of Fresno, California. The young couple will be married Saturday, June 14, at Fresno. Following Fol-lowing the ceremony they will be at their new home in El Cerrito, California. Both are members of the staff of the Federal Land Bank of Berkeley. Ber-keley. The bride is a graduate of the Armstrong College of Business Administration and past president of Theta Tau Theta, national business busi-ness women's sorority. Mr. Bird is a former student of the Brigham Young university and has been employed em-ployed by the Federal Land Bank of Berkeley for the past eight years. Y. L. S. CLUB MEMBERS WERE ENTERTAINED at the home of Mrs. Lillian Jensen, Jen-sen, Friday at a regular meeting. Sewing was enjoyed during the first part of the meeting, after which a delicious luncheon was served to the following: Mrs. Ra-Nore Ra-Nore Hatfield, Mrs. Naomi McKee, Mrs. Blanche Beardall, Mrs. Alta Taylor, Mrs. Margaret Hiatt, Mrs. Donna Childs, Mrs. Virginia Hall, Mrs. Elaine Marchant, Mrs. Thel-ma Thel-ma Beardall, Mrs. Myrle Curtis, and the hostess. Games were played and prizes were won by Mrs. Thelma Beardall Bear-dall for high score and Mrs. Alta Taylor for consolation. HOME CULTURE MEMBERS WERE ENTERTAINED Saturday morning at a spring breakfast, with Mrs. M. W. Bird acting as hostess. Breakfast was served at 10 a. m. at the Valley Tavern from one !ng table centered with snapdragons. snapdra-gons. Later the group assembled at the Bird home, where cards were Played. Mrs. Chris Lewis of Chicago Chi-cago won the high score prize, and Mrs. D. B. Welch won the draw Present. Attending were Mrs. Warren Beardall, Mrs. Maurice Anderson, Mrs. Maurice Bird, Mrs. Wilford Blanchard, Mrs. E. V.
