Show u Afery 400 Attend Wedding Social Honoring Newly Wed Young Couple PAR AN AD A CLUB MEMBERS WERE ENTERTAINED at a no-hostess party Monday at the home of Fern Ostler, especially especial-ly honoring Miss Tonie Fox, club president, who is leaving Spring-ville Spring-ville this week to work in Salt Lake City. . Program entertainment included a variety of games and readings by Miss Virginia Rivers. "Dagwood Specials" were served serv-ed early in the evening and refreshments re-freshments were served at the conclusion con-clusion of the party to: Virginia Vir-ginia Rivers, Mary Boyer, Mildred Larsen, Margaret Keller, LaVern Singleton, Dorothy Richardson, Tonie Fox, Fern Ostler, and Virginia Vir-ginia Simkins. THE 4-C 4-H CLUB WAS ORGANIZED MONDAY at the home of Mrs. Leona Wilson, director ofthe group. Beth Averett was elected president; presi-dent; Jean Beardall, vice-president; Reva Johnson, secretary and treasurer; treas-urer; Marion Oakley, reporter; and Carol Beardall, song and cheer leader. The club will be a two-year cooking cook-ing club and will be directed by Mrs. Wilson, assisted by Mrs. Mary Averett. MRS. THELMA BEARDALL ENTERTAINED THURSDAY at her home in honor of her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Fanny Holm, of Spanish Fork on the occasion of her birthday, and also a house-warming house-warming at the new Beardall home. Many lovely gifts were presented present-ed to the hostess and to the guest of honor. Games were played and the prizes were won by Mrs. Lillian Shepard, Mrs. Emma Miller, Mrs. Josephine McClain, and Mrs. Mary Monk. A delicious luncheon was served to the following: Mrs. Mable New-itt, New-itt, Mrs. Mary Woods, Mrs. Emma Miller, Mrs. Mary Monk, Mrs. Josephine Jo-sephine McClain, Mrs. Emma Evans, Mrs. Lillian Shepard, Mrs. Fanny Holm, all of Spanish Fork; Mrs. Ina Barrett of Rigby, Idaho; Mrs. Muriel Huff of Lake Shore, Mrs. Lillian Jensen and the hostess hos-tess of Springville. MRS. ALEX MORTENSEN WAS HONORED at a party in the form of a surprise sur-prise birthday dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Mortensen last week. At the dinner table places were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Orval Framp-ton Framp-ton and sons, Boyd and Max, of Richfield; Mr. and Mrs. Denver G. Blatter and son, Rulon, of Salt Lake City; Loyal Mortensen, Beth Hutchings, Clifton Mortensen, Paul I and Clyde Mortensen, Grant Fitzgerald, Fitz-gerald, Maxine Mortensen, all of Provo, and the host and hostess of Springville. Surprise of the evening was the announcement of the engagement of Miss Maxine Mortensen to Grant Fitzgerald, which was made by the bride-elect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Mortensen. Their wedding is planned to take place Thursday, June 5, at the home of Miss Mortensen. Mor-tensen. ........ . . PAUL FRANDSEN WAS HONORED AT A PARTY Friday night at his home. Guests who enjoyed a varied program of entertainment were Mr. and Mrs. Frandsen, Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Long, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Weight, Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Walker, and Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Boyer. Complimentary to Mr. and Mrs. Reed Francis (the former Leslee Loveridge), who were married Monday night in the Salt Lake temple, an elaborate wedding, reception re-ception was held Tuesday night in the Fourth ward chapel. Approximately 400 relatives and friends called during the evening and extended best wishes and congratulations con-gratulations to the young couple. The charming young bride wore a beautiful model of white silk chiffon with a fingertip veil caught to her head with a coronet of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of roses and blue delphinium. Mrs. Beth Lambson, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and she was attired in white and pink net. Bridesmaids were Marion Witney, Peggy Wright, and Florence Flor-ence Ruth Nelson. They wore blue, turquoise, and orchid gowns, res-' res-' pectively. All four girls wore corsages cor-sages of rosebuds. Also in the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Loveridge and Mrs. Barbara Francis. Mrs. Loveridge Lover-idge chose black crepe and Mrs. Francis wore black taffeta. Both ladies wore corsages of red rosebuds. rose-buds. Harold Whiting was best man. In charge of the gifts were Mrs. H. G. Thome and Mrs. Lila Mad-sen, Mad-sen, and they were assisted with the receiving by Carol Jean and Nola Loveridge, Lela Rae and Joy Thorpe. The serving was under the direction direc-tion of Mrs. J. W. Grant and Mrs. Edna Starr. They were assisted by the Misses Ruth Condie, Lenore Weight, Emma Ullock, Arleen Roylance, Evelyn Reid, and Marian Mar-ian and Maurine Francis. The serving table was covered with a gorgeous lace cover and the centerpiece was pink and white snapdragons. Pink tapers in crystal crys-tal candelabra were at either end of the table. Blaine Thorpe was master of ceremonies and introduced the following fol-lowing program : Violin solo, Eileen Bird; vocal solo, Robert Peirce; readings, Mrs. E. F. Binks and Mrs. Ella Reynolds; piano accordion accor-dion solo, Howard Kearns. Dancing concluded the entertainment. During the receiving hour, string music was played by Mrs. Jack Cherrington. Following a short honeymoon at the parks in southern Utah, the young couple will make their home in San Diego. |
