Its purpose is to el- j evate the standards of women and, to extend opportunities to women through education along lines of industrial, scientific and vocational vocation-al activities. Concerted action, working in unity and loyalty, in such vital problems as civilian defense, de-fense, conservation of our natural nat-ural resources, legislation for the laws affecting the well being of women and families makes a solution sol-ution more readily apparent, Miss Bird said. In Utah, twenty-four clubs'unite to practice the ideals which are the foundation of our nation, to unlock doors of opportunity in the cause of better humanity and a richer and broader womanhood. Rheumatic Fever is the worthwhile worth-while project adopted by Utah clubs this year. Participation in a nursing course sponsored by the club for this coming July 28 to August 1st, is one accomplishment the club is proud of. Utah still has the highest incidence of rheumatic rheu-matic fever in the U. S. Such projects pro-jects can be of great help to our communities in combating this crippling-disease. Rheumatic Fever is the State project of the club and the state BPW has given between two and three thousand dollars worth of equipment to the County hospital to aid rheumatic fever and in research re-search of the same. |
