Thorn returned re-turned Tuesday evening from the Hawaiian Islands and California where they have spent the past six weeks vacationing. They traveled to the islands on the President Wilson and toured the three principal islands of the group by plane. Among the most 1 interesting tours were those to sugar and pineapple plantations and to the refining and canning plants. Mrs. Thorn was especially interested in the beautiful flowers flow-ers of the islands and told how the baby orchids grow practically wild in spots. They went through the Hawaiian temple and described it as one of the most beautiful of buildings. During their stay, they visited Mr. and Mrs. Grover Clyde at Honolulu and spent some time at the beaches; looked over the historical volcano lands and generally gener-ally toured every place of tourist attraction on the islands. They returned to the continent by plane and spent some time with Mr. and Mrs. Vern Bird in Los Angeles, who accompanied; them to Palm Springs for a short stay before returning home. The Thorns also visited Mr. and Mrs. Bird and other relatives and friends in Los Angeles, before their boat left for the islands. Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Thorn |
