Show News of Interest From Servicemen Pfe. Robert Thorpe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Thorpe, has returned re-turned to Walker Air Force base at Boswell, N. M.. with his bride the former Joan Wilkins, follow-two follow-two weeks furlough spent at home. He has just completed his basic at Sheppard Air Force base at Wichita Falls, Texas, and is now working in the budget and finance department in accounting. Sergeant First Class Jay Lowe is home on a 3Q-day leave having served for the past few months oh the front lines in Korea. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kelly and his wife is the former Shirley Harmer. At the conclusion of his leave, Jay will report to Camp Carson, Colo., about April 22. LaVar C. Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wray Nelson, has been given his release from the service following follow-ing three and a half years in Germany Ger-many with the army engineers. He is expected to arrive home within a few days. Lee Robertson S. H. 3 has returned re-turned to his naval station at Philadelphia Phil-adelphia Navv Yards after spending spend-ing two wee'ks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Robertson. He is serving aboard the USS Fulton, Ful-ton, a submarine tender, where he is a ship barber and is active in the ship band. He left last Saturday morning and spent Sunday with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pitts . and other relatives, who gathered at the grandparents home in Dodge City, Kansas. He then went on to Fort Campbell, Ky., to see his brother Matt, recently re-cently promoted to corporal in the airforce. He spent one evening with Matt and also Jim Cannier and is to report to his base today. |
