Springville Now Has 2,000 Phones, , Report Indicates The 2000th telephone was placed in service here in March, it was announced today by John W. Snell, district manager for the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Co. Starting with almost 600 when World War II broke out, the number num-ber of phones were increased slowly slow-ly while telephone equipment was being diverted to combat uses.
