Chase Allred (Virginia Bird) and daughters, Linda and Patrice, left last Wednesday Wed-nesday for their home in Lincoln, Nebr., after spending their vacation vaca-tion with Mrs. Allred's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Freeman C. Bird at Mapleton also other relatives and friends there and at Lehi. Mr. Allred is attending the University of Nebraska. J. F. Wingate returned recently from a trip to western Canada, where he went on business for the W. R. Eddington Co. Dr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Pace (Pauline Clyde) returned to their home in San Jose, Calif., recently from a month's trip to Alaska. They went by car traveling over the Alcan highway and toured Anchorage, Fairbanks and . Seward. Se-ward. They returned by boat. Mrs. Ella D. Strain of San Diego and Miss Naomi Deal of Los Angeles An-geles have returned for their annual an-nual summer visit in Springville and are staying at the Deal home on North Main street. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Miller accompanied ac-companied by Mr. Miller's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. George Rodgers of Los Angeles, spent two days of the past week touring the canyons in Southern Utah. It was the Rodgers first trip to Utah and Mr. and Mrs. Miller also took them on a tour of Bingham and the copper mine and also interesting interest-ing places in Salt Lake City. They left for their home on Monday. Mrs. Muriel Robertson and her daughter, Karen, spent Sunday in Salt Lake City attending a family gathering at the home of an aunt, Mrs. C. M. Pitts. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Robertson had as their guests recently, Mrs. Robertson's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Chelf of Houston, Texas. During their stay here, the visitors were taken on several trips to places of interest in-terest in the state including nearby near-by canyons, the Bingham copper mine and other places. Mrs. Hazel Roylance and children, chil-dren, Karen and Orville and her daughter, Mrs. Norma Jenkins and her daughter, Marsha, have just returned from a trip to California to visit ther sons and brothers, Rex, Duane and Ronald, all stationed sta-tioned at San Diego. They also spent some time with Mrs. Roy-lance's Roy-lance's brother, Orville Evans at Los Angeles and visited numerous scenic spots on the coast. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Dotson of Las Vegas, Nev., are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Py-per Py-per at their home in Brookside. Mrs. Thelma Clark and grandson grand-son Johnnie and Mrs. Gertrude Clements plan to leave the latter part of this week for New Jersey. Mrs. Clark will take hr little grandson back home in Stelton, N. J., after he has sent a 2-months vacation with . his grandparents here and she will visit her daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Torzillo for a while. Mrs. Clements will go to Pt. Pleasant, N. J. to visit her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Clements Cle-ments and family. They expect to be gone about three weeks. Frank Tipton of Kemmerer, Wyoming Wy-oming was visiting old friends and relatives including a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Diamond here this week. He has been confined to a Salt Lake City hospital for the past five months as a result of an accident acci-dent in which he suffered a fractured leg, fractured ribs and other injuries when a horse he was riding rolled down the mountain. mount-ain. Bill Devenish flew to Minneapolis, Minnea-polis, Minn, the past week to bring Mr. and Mrs. Paul Beck of Provo, home. The Beck's have been visiting friends and relatives rela-tives in Minneapolis. Bert Strong and Bill Devenish also flew out to Jackson, Wyoming last Wednesday. |
