Show Local Insurance Agent Comments On New Motor Law "The teeth of the new Utah Motor Mo-tor Vehicle-Safety Responsibility law are sharp," declared LeRoy D. Johnson, local Farmers Insurance In-surance Group District Agent in explaining highlights of the new law. "Under this new law," said Mr. Johnson, "many automobile drivers driv-ers will have their drivers' licenses licen-ses suspended if they are involved in accidents in which any person is killed or injured, or in which damage to the property of any person in exceSsof $100 is sustained, sus-tained, unless security as proof of financial responsibility is filed with the State to satisfy any judgement that may result from the accident. "It appears", added the Farmers Insurance agent, "that in order to promote safety in Utah's highways and to insure adequate financial compensation to innocent victims of accidents, it was the intent of the Legislature in passing this law, to strike hard at the reckless and irresponsible driver for the good of the public generally and particularly for the benefit of the safe, careful and responsible driver driv-er and pedestrian." |
