Show Baseball Ends At High School; City Team Plays Sunday Coach Dee Sanford and his Springville high school Red Devils wound up their short prep-baseball season last Thursday at Payson with the Lions besting them 10-2. In a game played at Price the week before, the Red Devils pulled an upset to whip the Carbon team 3-4 behind the pitching of Hoover and Haymond with Burt catching. The Red Devils have not been the top club of the district this year, but has made its entry into league play and has been looking toward the future with some good prospects pros-pects coming up. Several of the prepstea-s will gain further experience exper-ience during the summer playing for the Springville nine in the Central Cen-tral Utah league which gets underway under-way this coming Sunday. Details on this will be announced when play is begun and the team more fully organized, announced George Pehrson, recreateion director. He stated, there would be a game this Sunday. |
