Show Local Men Attend Water Project Meet in Denver President Sterling E, Price of the Springville Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, also manager of Greater Utah Valley, Inc., and J. A. Miller, Chamber of Commerce secretary, attended a meeting Friday in Denver. Den-ver. Colorado of the Upper Colorado Colo-rado River Basin Development Co. Purpose of the meeting, attended by four Utah county and nine state representatives, was to stimulate interest in and push action on the Colorado River project. It has been felt that the Upper Colorado commission com-mission had done little or nothing in the interest of the project. At the meeting, it was stated by opposing individuals, that it was not time now to introduce the bill in Congress due to the political situation. However, the Utah delegate had been informed previously by Senator Sen-ator Arthur V. Watkins, that unless un-less the bill were introduced now, the work already done, would be of no avail as new budget administrative adminis-trative officers would have to be made acquainted all over again with details of the project. The Utah delegation therefor impressed upon the meeting the importance of sending a resolution resolu-tion to congress favoring the bill, which was introduced by Senator Watkins on April 19. Reports indicate that Senator Watkins called a meeting of Utah representatives, including Reba Beck Bosone and Mr. Granger to discuss the bill before he introduced intro-duced it and not one of them came to the meeting. Senator Watkins is working hard for the bill but needs the support of Utah representatives also organized groups and individuals individ-uals of this state who are interested inter-ested in the development of Utah. |
