Mr. and Mrs. Dean Haymond of California are guests at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davies. They plan to be here several sev-eral days. A Cub Scout Pack meeting was held in the Mapleton church Saturday Satur-day night. Den one and five presented pre-sented skits with "Robinhood" as the theme. These two dens also tied for the attendance record. Bob Cat pins were presented to Allen Dibble, Craig Hurst, Clark Johnson, Ricky Whiting, Terry Jensen, Allen Perry and Paul Schwartz Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Talmage of Long Beach, Calif., are spending several days visiting at the home of her mother Mrs. Hannah Binks of Mapleton and with his mother Mrs. Hettie Talmage of Springville. Spring-ville. A three act comcdv entitled "ThP Ghost Chaser" was presented in the Mapleton church Monday ni-ht for the MIA of the Mapleton Second Sec-ond war,d and Tuesday night for the Mapleton ward MIA under the direction of Mrs. Jessie Beardall. Included in the cast were Paul Dibble Rex Jensen, Jessie Warren, War-ren, Barbara Allen, Peggy Bingham, Bing-ham, Margene Hurst and Gordon Beardall. Stanley Jensen and Jack 'Morgan assisted with the properties, proper-ties, lights and make up. Each evenings' entertainment was concluded with refreshments being served under the direction of MIA officers. Novelty numbers were presented between acts of the play. Several quilting were held in Ma. pleton last week. Wednesday one was held at the home of Marilyn Tuttle by her sister, Mrs. LeNore Bills; Thursday the home of Mrs. Hazel Binks was the scene of another an-other quilting for the Relief Society Soc-iety and Friday evening Mrs. Barbara Bar-bara Murray invited in several friends to work on a quilt. They were all well attended. Mr. and Mrs. Morris T. Binks in company with Mr. and Mrs. Glade Binks and daughter Christene were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Binks and family of Payson. " A group of young friends honored honor-ed Richard Jensen on his birthday Friday evening at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Jensen. Refreshments were served to the following after which they all enjoyed en-joyed a movie: Janet Bona, Linda Hall, Lynda Hatfield, Patty Whitney, Whit-ney, Scott Dotson, Ronny Canto, Sid Whiting and the honored guest. The Relief Society officers of the Mapleton ward were entertained at a Halloween party Friday evening even-ing at the home of Mrs. Beth Jensen. Jen-sen. She was assisted by Iris Dibble, Dib-ble, Catherine Ann Jensen and Mabel Paulson. A color scheme of black and orange was used on the long table at which a delicious supper sup-per was served, and in the candy favors presented each guest. A short business meeting was held and the remainder of the eveming was spent in needle work and in planning the bazaar for Friday. Several friends were in Salt Lake City Wednesday evening to wish Marilyn Whiting "Bon Voyage" when she left for a mission to the Samoan Islands. Friends included Marilyn and Floyd Tuttle of Mapleton, Ma-pleton, Ruth Ann and Don Clark of Ogden, Carolyn and Herbert Redd of Salt Lake' City. Relatives from Mapleton who were present to see her "off" were her parents Patriarch and Mrs. Oscar Os-car Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whiting and family and Mr. and Mrs Jaun Whiting and family. A fireside chat was held at the home of Yvonne Hurst Sunday evening after church. Jim Otteson was the guest speaker. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served to twenty five. Mr. and Mrs. S. LaVell Bird and Mr. and Mrs. Waldon Hurst were among those who attended a family fam-ily gathering at the home of Mrs. |
