Show Three City Councilmen Will Be Elected Next Tuesday . . & Polls Will Be Open from 7 a.m. to '8 p.m. in Eight Voting Districts Two parties with three fine candidates each are this week announcing their platforms prior to the city election to name three councilmen next Tuesday, AT 1 O November 8. The polls will be open from 7 a.m., until 8 p.m., and it is important im-portant that every citizen votes. One half of the city governing group will be named to office to serve a period of four years each. The Springville Herald office will be open Tuesday evening until after the votes are counted, count-ed, and anyone desiring to know the results of the elec. tion may call the Springville Herald, Phone HU 9-5651. The Peoples Party has placed on the ballot the names of Myron Childs, James Lawrence and Lawrence Law-rence W. Lynn and a picture of each man together with a brief history of their life and activities is found elsewhere in today's Springville Herald. The Independent party has also secured the promise to serve from E. A. (Bert) Strong, Harold Whiting, Whit-ing, incumbent, and Grant Nielson. Their pictures, and a resume of their activities are to be found also in thes paper today. Both parties have adopted platforms plat-forms which if car-ried out would be for the benefit of the city, and its future development. Voting will be done in eight districts, dis-tricts, the p'.aces being announced as follows: District one, Mrs. Nellie P. Brown, 120 Brookside Drive; Dis-V' trict two, Mrs. Julia Sumsion,-124 South Second West; District Three, Mrs. Retta Harmer, 190 West First South; District Four, Mrs. Vera Perham, 271 East Third North; District Five, Mrs. Vivian Johnson, 686 East Center; District Six, Mrs. Afton Palfreyman, 309 East Center; Cen-ter; District Seven, Mrs. Alma Fullmer, 269 East 4th South; and District Eight, Mrs. Harlan Boyer, 707 South Fourth East. Voters are asked to vote for any three of the six men listed for office. They will be listed alphabetically alpha-betically on ' the ballot but this does not mean that one cannot vote for one on one party and also the other across from the one voted for. Any three names on the ballot may have a cross placed for them regardless of their place on the ballot.
