Mrs. Johanna Quinii and daughter daugh-ter Jean of Las Vegas, Nov., visited visit-ed her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Jordison; also her brother and sister.in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Degn and families fam-ilies at Erookslde recently. Mrs. J. M. Sumsion returned Saturday evening from an enjoyable enjoy-able trip to California. She made the trip by plane and was gone two weeks in all, visiting a brother broth-er Ed Coplan and family at Gardenia; Gar-denia; sister, Mrs. Nora Jacobus and her daughter Rosalee Leavitt at Artesia and with another sister, Mrs. Charlotte Lennan at Fontana and with a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lola McBride at Riverside. Morris Ilnndrioksn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hendricksen, is spending a 22-day furlough from the army with his parents and other relatives and friends here. He will report to Fort Lewis, Wash,, November 22, when he expects ex-pects to be given his orders for overseas duty in the Far East. Cpl. Kolrt K. BeardiUl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis R. Beardall, has been home on a 20-day leave from Camp Pendleton, Calif., where he is stationed with the marines. He came especially for the deer hunt and reported back to the same camp. Lt. Richard Sumsion of the US airforce has been assigned to a new airbase at Bainbridge; Ga., where he expects to be stationed for the next six months. He has been stationed at San Antonio, Tex., and he and his wife left recently re-cently for their new residence in Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Newt Thorn have gone to Orem where they expect to spend the winter months with a daughter and family. Louis Thorn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thorn left recently for his new base at Whittier, Alaska, after a few weeks visit with his3 parents and other relatives and friends in Springville. He has been stationed at Anchorage and his new station is still farther north where the snow is reported to be already 55 feet deep. Part of his work will be to operate big equipment equip-ment in clearing away snow from the army installations. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thorn have returned from a visit in California with their daughter June and husband, hus-band, Lt. and Mrs. Robert N. Ar-bon Ar-bon at Oxnard, Calif. They also visited relatives and friends in Los Angeles, including Mr. and Mrs. Vern Bird, also Mr. and Mrs. Dick Thorn in Glendale and other rela-tivts rela-tivts in Whittier. Mrs. Thorn stay, ed two weeks and Paul joined her on Friday for a few days visit before their return Wednesday evening. MT. and Sirs. Fred Sagabiel (Neil Jean Vane) of Salt Lake City visited relatives and friends here the past weekend enroute to Los Angeles, Calif., to make their home the next two years while Mr. Saga-beil Saga-beil attends school in Inglewood. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hume and three children of Ridgecrest, Calif., returned to their home Sunday following a weeks visit in Springville Spring-ville with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence L. Jensen and other relatives rela-tives and friends, coming here especially es-pecially for the deer hunt. |
