Show High School Students Complete Club Sponsored Driver Training Course Approximately 175 boys and girls in the sophomore sopho-more class at the high school should now be able to pass an automobile driver's examination. They have just completed the driver's train- ing course under the direction of high school instructors, George Pehrson and Paul Steele, Del Moine Christensen and J. F. Wingate. The car in which the students have had actual driving experience, exper-ience, was contributed by G. Lowry Anderson. Mr. Christensen of the Kiwanis club Boys and Girls committee, com-mittee, directed plans for the project pro-ject and J. F. Wingate accompanied accompan-ied the students during the driver training. Each student, in addition to taking tak-ing classes on driving rules and regulations, has seen films on safe driving practices and has had at least one hour actual driving. Each one has spent another hour in the car watching the others drive. ' The driver training classes were sponsored in the high school by the Kiwanis club in an effort to develop better drivers and safer drivers among the young people of the community. Use of the car, without cost to the school or the club, has greatly facilitated the training, Mr. Christensen Chris-tensen said. , |
