Show Unemployed Shows' Decrease in City And County There are at present 307 individuals in-dividuals claiming unemployment benefits as compared with 1,049 as of February 7, 1951, through the Provo Employment Security Office it was reported this week. Forty Springville residents are claiming benefits now, compared to 147 on the above date. One hundred sixty-eight of the claimants claim-ants are men; 139 areN women. Sixty-three are under 26 years of age, 130 between 26 and 45, and 114 are over 45. One man is 80 years young! One hundred fifteen have filed claims less than five weeks, 68 between five and ten weeks, and 124 have filed for more than ten weeks during the current cur-rent benefit year. Sixty people exhausted their benefit rights during dur-ing March of this year. A total of 2,833 claims for unemployment checks were filed in the Provo Employment Security office during dur-ing March 1951, 56 less than the 6,316 claims filed during Mar., 1950. , The geographic distribution of workers filing unemploymf, claims in Utah County now is ij residents of Lehi, 23 of Ameria' Fork, 35 of Orem, 121 of Vm 40 of Springville, 28 of Span', Fork, 21 of Payson, and 28 Z Pleasant Grove. There is a total of 823 mi registered for work in the PrL office compared to 1,130 las' month at this time and 1 36i j year ago. The office received or ders for 182 workers during tht past month compared to 138 it-ceived it-ceived during the same month it 1950. Of the 823 people registers for work, 92 men and 15 women ii-available ii-available only after school hoiiri or on Saturday. It is estimate that the labor force in Utah county j at this time is 26,230 people.
